Meet your Career Counselor:

Meeting with your career counselor is a great way to receive guidance on a wide range of career-related topics such as: career exploration, changing majors, developing career plans, creating a resume, finding internships and full-time jobs, effective networking, developing graduate school plans, and making successful career transitions.

To make an appointment, log into MustangJOBS and click “Career Center” on the top-right of the screen and then select “Appointments” or call (805) 756-2501.

Scheduled Appointments are your opportunity to meet individually with your Career Counselor and address your specific needs. Appointments range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the topic.

Prescheduled Appointments   Drop-In Hours 

Drop-in hours are offered Monday-Thursday from 1-4 p.m. to support your immediate career needs. Our career advisors are on-hand to provide brief individual consultations on any career topic, ranging from resume review to job search or change of major guidance. Simply drop in to our Zoom room to be served on a first come, first served basis.

NEW! If you’d like to guarantee your meeting time and avoid a potential wait, we also offer 15-minute scheduled sessions during drop-in hours. Book your time here anytime within the 24 hours prior (limited spaces available).

Please note: Drop-in hours are not held during summer, academic breaks, or holidays. 

Job or Internship Offer (Specific) Drop-In Hours
If you need urgent help with a job or internship offer and are seeking guidance on making your decision and/or communicating with employers, we have special drop-in hours during Fall Quarter on Fridays (Oct. 9, 16, 23, 30; Nov. 6, 13) from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Simply drop in to our Zoom room to be served on a first come, first served basis. You may also attend our regular Drop-in Hours or make an appointment (see info above for both options) for job offer assistance. You may also refer to this tip sheet for help navigating your situation.
