Alumni Interest Form
Cal Poly Alumni: thank you for your interest in supporting our students in their career development! In order to connect you with opportunities in the future, please indicate your interest in volunteering for any of the following:
Panel Discussions
As a panelist at a Career Services or Department event, you will share your experiences and advice with students (plus enjoy returning to campus for a visit!). Panel events are typically about one hour long and are offered on a range of topics.
Informational Interviews
When you were in college did you ever wish you could gain career or industry advice from a professional in your field of interest? By volunteering for informational interviews, you provide the opportunity for a student to contact you for this purpose. Informational interviews may take place in person, by phone, or over email. *Note that informal connection opportunities are also available via Cal Poly Career Connections, a mentoring platform that is exclusive to Cal Poly students and alumni. To activate your free account, please visit https://careerconnections.calpoly.edu/.
Alumni Spotlight
Would you be interested in being featured in an Alumni Spotlight that will be shared with students via our targeted career newsletters? Students get a lot of value from learning about the career paths that alumni have taken and how their Cal Poly degree and experiences prepared them for professional success. The profile is created using a brief survey (5 questions) that we have developed to tap into the insights that will benefit current students and should take less than 20 minutes to complete.
Be a Guest Speaker for a Student Club
Many of the most active student clubs on campus seek out alumni to give career related talks at their club meetings. If this is an opportunity that interests you, let us help connect you with clubs that would be good match for your industry/expertise. Note that if coming to campus is not possible for you but you’d still like to participate, some clubs offer opportunities for speakers to join their meetings via Skype or other video conferencing platform.
